PIVOTAL EUROPE

Pivotal, a leading and growing, full-services, international CRO providing clinical trial management services and appropriate solutions along the clinical trial value chain to the healthcare industry, with over 140 employees across Europe, expands its international business and announces the recent appointment of Mr. Klemens Schuette, as VP of Central and Northern Europe.

Klemens is biologist and biochemist by training, and holds an MSc in Biology, Biochemistry and Neuropharmacology from University of Konstanz, Germany (1988). After spending one year as a lecturer at the said University and University of Florida at Gainsville, he started his career in the Pharmaceutical Industry in 1990 at Asta Medica AG in Frankfurt am Main starting as Clinical Trials Manager, and progressing to International Clinical Project Leader and finally Director of International Clinical Operations in Clinical Development. In 2002, he spent one year as Managing Director of Intercern GmbH, a Site Management Organisation, which was followed in 2003 by his appointment as Chief Operating Officer and Executive VP at Ergomed, a Central European CRO, with additional responsibilities over Germany and UK. Before joining Pivotal, and since 2012, he was the CEO of Ecron-Acunova, an International CRO with European presence.

In this new position, Klemens, a seasoned clinical research professional, will focus on Pivotal international expansion in Central and Northern Europe, with special emphasis on Germany and the Scandinavian countries. He will explore new opportunities and untap new avenues for Pivotal international exposure in the clinical research arena. Additionally, Klemens will work intimately with all the other functions at Pivotal, especially Business Development, to promote our services and attract new business as well as manage the strategic plan for this geographic area.
